String Quartet No. 1

Composed in three movements (with the final two being conjoined), this work for string quartet is my first in the genre. The work is predominantly fiery and intense, much like storm-filled midsummer during which it was composed.

Cassation, for guitar quartet

Inspired by Renaissance Italian lute music, this piece is cast in four dances and accompanied by four poems written by myself. The piece acts as an ode to my hometown, the birth of the Erie Canal. For inspiration, I would channel the many walks I would take in the spring and summer along the canal; hence, “canalside.”
